We work hard to provide a learning environment that is caring and supportive, while at the same time being challenging and stimulating preparing students for lifelong learning.

Programme

Each day we cover the core curriculum areas of reading, writing and mathematics.

During the year we ensure coverage of the curriculum areas of:

§  Oral& Visual Language

§  The Arts (Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Art)

§  Physical Education and Health

§  Integrated Studies (Science, Social Studies, Technology)

§  Computer Skills

§  Maori

§  Handwriting.

The school library is visited regularly and students are able to borrow books to take home.

Computers are used in the classroom and intensive computer training occurs fortnightly, where students develop their knowledge and understanding of computer software with the guidance of Willowbank School’s dedicated computer teacher.
