General Information

After School Care 

Is provided at the school by an independent company.  Safe Kids in Daily Supervision (SKIDS).  Please phone 273 4229 or 021 702 498.  

If your child is going to be late or absent, please phone the school (24hr message service available) so we can be sure all children are safe. Please inform the class teacher if your child will be taken out of class for visits to the doctor, dentist, etc.  It is also essential that your child is signed in and out in the register at the school office, whenever he/she is removed from the school grounds between 8:55 – 3:00.  

A lunch scheme operates daily.  A menu is distributed at the beginning of the year and is also available from the office.  Lunches are ordered at the classroom on the day.  Send along a sealed envelope with your child’s name, room number and lunch order on the outside.   

Sometimes children are required to bring money to school for various reasons. Please place money in a sealed envelope with your child’s name, room number and what the money is for, on the front of the envelope.  Money must be taken to the child’s teacher for processing through the class money book.  (Book club may be paid directly into the book club box in the office foyer). 

There is no provision made in the design of the school for parental parking before or after school.  In the mornings drop children off on Middlefield or Gracechurch Drives so they can walk safely a short distance to school. The Pedestrian Crossing will operate so children can cross safely.  After school the only parents permitted to enter the drop off / pick up area in front of the school are those holding 'Parking Permits'.  To be eligible for a 'Parking Permit' you must have a child under 2 years old with siblings in Years 1 or 2 and the permit can only be used if that child is in the car.  Please do as for mornings and pick up your child from along Middlefield Drive or Gracechurch Drive or streets off them . 

Willowbank School is a Smoke Free Environment.  Smoking in the school buildings and grounds is prohibited at all times.  

The Internet 

At present only Years 4, 5 & 6 have access to the internet and this is only under the supervision of a staff member.  Each child has to have signed a contract and that contract also has to be signed by parents/caregivers before the child can access the internet (supervised).  

Visitors 

Outside of the hours of dropping off and picking up children all visitors, including parents and caregivers, must call at the office to sign in and pick up a visitors sticker – This applies even if dropping off a book or lunch.  It is essential for the security of all children.
